Exam Pattern:

The exam consists of three objective papers:

• General Language (English & Hindi) – Qualifying paper, 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours
• General Studies – 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours
• General Aptitude – 100 questions, 100 marks, 2 hours

The total duration is 6 hours across all three papers.

• Each question carries 1 mark; negative marking of 1/3rd mark for wrong answers applies.
• Candidates must score a minimum of 30% marks in both English and Hindi sections of the General Language paper to qualify.
• Marks obtained in the General Studies and General Aptitude papers are counted for the merit list.

Syllabus Highlights:

General Language:

• Part A – General English (30 marks): comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure, etc.
• Part B – General Hindi (70 marks): comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, sentence formation, synonyms, antonyms, etc.

General Studies:

• Current events – national and international
• Indian History and Bihar History
• Indian Polity and Constitution, including the Bihar state constitutional matters
• Geography of India and Bihar
• Economic and social development, sustainable development
• General Science – Physics, Chemistry, Biology fundamentals
• Environmental issues and disaster management

General Aptitude:

• Logical reasoning and analytical ability
• Basic quantitative aptitude (number systems, percentages, ratios, averages, etc.)
• Data interpretation and problem-solving skills
• Mental ability and basic computer knowledge

Eligibility:

Candidates must have a graduate degree from a recognized university.

Written examination (as above) followed by document verification of shortlisted candidates.
